It’s like Titanic, minus Leonardo DiCaprio’s horrible acting and that shitty Celine Dion song.  Okay, So it is nothing like Titanic but ProElite’s ship is going down quick, real quick.

Despite previous reports of bankruptcy, ProElite had been claiming that they were not going under but were instead simply “downsizing” in hopes of coming back strong in 2009, in which they hoped to resume promoting fights.  It turns out that was just another smoke screen and ProElite is now up for auction.    This news comes as a surprise to very few as we learned late on the 4th that ProElite and all of their assets are to be auctioned off by their parent companies of Showtime and CBS corporation.  To top it off, the Captains of the vessel, Gary Shaw and Doug Deluca jumped ship today as they tended their resignations from ProElite (although they both have plans to stay around as consultants).  So that leaves ProElite with a handful of fighter contracts and a mark of shame, which means their only choice was to put the company up for auction.  I just don’t know why they didn’t put it on Ebay.

I know UFC president Dana White thinks that the upcoming UFC 91Couture vs. Lesnar will bring over 1 million ppv buys in a few months but I have a proposal that I think would bring in even more than that… This could potentially be the most hyped up, who has the bigger balls, slugfest. I know these two would LOVE the chance to go at each others throats and claim MMA supremecy. May we present to you…. Shaw vs. White.

My money is on the bald guy

I think that this potential slugfest would be one for the ages. No Knockout, Submission, or fight of the night bonuses. No controversy, just fists. You can see right here just how pissed Dana White is at Elite XC’s Gary Shaw for ruining the sport of MMA that Dana White has worked 10 hard years for. It would just be so easy if they just fought a “loser leaves the biz” approach to this fight so all of this nonsenese bribery, he said she said bullshit would just stop. In a perfect world this would already be done and over with but alas, this is MMA and everyone has to put their two cents in. Here’s how the fight would go down in my opinion.

Gary Shaw takes a page out of Shamrock’s book and gets a mystery “cut” above his eye and is unable to fight. C’mon, Dana would knock him the fuck out we all know this… Unfortunatley we will never get to see this fight happen, ever. Oh, well can’t stop a guy from dreamin’!
