Big Addition to Strikeforce: Destruction.

While all eyes were on the Lesnar-Couture bout over the weekend, one MMA news story seemed to squeak by rather quietly. That was the announcement of the new main event on the Strikeforce: Destruction card.  As you probablly won’t recall, we reported last week about Strikeforce Champ Josh Thomson’s toe injury (which will keep him off this Strikeforce event) and how his abscence has left the Strikeforce event to come crashing down like a game of Jenga . While we here at the Dojo don’t want to be known as flip-floppers, we are going to have to change our tune about this one.

Terry Martin and Scott Smith pre-empt their MMA match with a friendly game of Hungry Hungry Hippos.

Ex-Gang Banger Terry Martin and Ex-Elite XC fighter Scott Smith have been added as the new co-Main Event for the Strikeforce: Destruction event, which is on Friday Nov. 21st and airs on HDnet. Both of these BAMF’s are coming off pretty big losses, Martin to Vitor Belfort at the Affliction event in July and Smith to Robbie Lawler at the EliteXC event in July, so both fighters will be looking to make a big statement in this bout which will make this fight even sicker. The rest of the card doesn’t look too bad either, at least not bad in a supporting role.  Duane Ludwig is fighting and he’ll be throwing some leather, along with the Babalu vs Bobby Southworth bout which is for Stikeforce’s light heavyweight gold, AND Kim Couture is stepping in to bitch slap, we mean fight Lina Kvokov.  In a week a lot can change and that’s how we feel about this one.  A week ago this event was looking like it was the last few moves in a game of Jenga, but now the event is looking more like a game of Hungry-Hungry-Hippos, because it will be straight chaos and fun to watch.  So if you like watching good Mixed Martial Arts fights we encourage you to check out this one.

I personally prefer Sorry, or Battleship to games like Hungry Hungry Hippo…
