When asked what they wanna be when they grow up, most kids want to be a superhero, or a fireman, or a doctor. But if you asked Ryan Couture what he wanted to be when he grows up well… let’s just say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
This past Friday UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture’s son, Ryan, stepped into the octagon against Ricky Perez (1-1) in his MMA amateur debut. Ryan was victorious in his bout defeating Perez by triangle choke in the first round in Bellingham, Washington.
Fortunately for the Coutures this month doesn’t end there. Papa bear steps into the ring this Saturday night against Brock Lesnar for the championship belt. If Couture can pull off the upset (yeah, he’s the underdog in this one) then that will make the Couture’s 2-0 in November.
The month doesn’t stop there yet, because Mom wants her fair share of the Octagon and believe us, she’s gonna get it! Mama Couture steps in the ring with Lina KvoKov in her Strikeforce debut on Novermber 21st.
So with such a busy November for the Coutures, they’re sure to finish out the year strong. We’re imagining the Coutures will likely have a fight themed holiday card this year.
