Although not causing a stir quite as bad as “KimboGate“, this past weekends fight between the best pound for pound fighter Anderson Silva and Patrick Cote left fans a little less than pleased. In the second round of the fight the Spider was seen switching stances, dropping his hands, and moving his hands as if he was taking a page out of Mr Miyagi’s book “Wax on, Wax off”.

Fans boo-ed the fighters in the third round after cote sustained a knee injury that ended the fight giving Silva the TKO. In his post-fight interview he apologized to the crowd, the fans watching at home, Dana White, The cameramen, the trainers, the concession stand workers, and even the people at the ticket stand for not delivering what he wanted to.

“I didn’t become a champion and defend my title as many times as I have not doing my job or playing round. So, I hope everybody understands that. And I hope all my future opponents understand that. I’m not here to play. I’m here to win.” – Anderson Silva

His goal was to work a counter-strike (no not the pc game you nerds) but unfortunatley Cote was trying to use the same strategy and well when you try to counter a counter you become like magnets and never connect.

“I came in here. I did my job. My strategy was working,” Silva stated. “Patrick couldn’t find me. And it’s unfortunate that his knee went out.” – Anderson “The Spider” Silva

You can’t blame the guy for his “do work son!” attitude. The only sad story about this whole story is that we most likely will not see a Cote vs. Silva 2 as Cote will be undergoing microscopic knee surgery later this week and will not see any action for 6 to 8 months. Oh well, maybe Silva will move back to the 205 class now..

he was toying with Cote, it was disrespectful and embarassing for him and Patrick. Dana White should have bitch slapped him because bitch slaps are for bitches, especially bitches who get big heads and think they’re invincible.
