Kimbo slice may have been KTFO last Saturday in his hometown but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t paid well for it. Kimbo was paid $500,000 just for stepping in the ring on Saturday (not a bad chunk of change for someone who was poor and living on the streets a few years ago). Only one other fighter rivaled that pay, Andre Arlovski for his defeat over Roy Nelson also got paid $500,000 (Affliction picked up their tabs however). The story of the night however was Seth Petruzelli who got $50,000 and then another $15,000 for winning. In several interviews he’s been stating that he was awarded a bonus in the 6-digit range for taking the last minute fight. While I don’t think it was quite the amount that Slice or Arlovski got I’m pretty sure it was a nice chunk.

Petruzelli also is in a little trouble with some statements he made over the weekend about how EliteXC paid him to “keep the fight standing”. After fans began calling the fight “fixed” or “rigged” he quickly has now been stating that his were twisted and that he meant to say that he wanted to keep the fight standing to “give the fans a good fight”. You can listen to Petruzelli talk about his fight here and listen to him talk about the fight, when he knew he had Kimbo beat, and about this whole “Bribe” fiasco.
