Friday’s episode of Dr. Phil is entitled “Dangerous Teen Trends”, and features a segment about teens involved with underground fight clubs:

Adela worries for her 17-year-old son, Alex’s, safety after discovering that he’s participating in an underground extreme sport — teen fight clubs.  Alex and his 16-year-old friend, Casanova, say that these amateur boxing matches train them to reach their goals of becoming Ultimate Fighting Champions (UFC).  How do the teens respond when they come face-to-face with real UFC fighters?

Dr. Phil is no stranger to violence-related programming, regularly using it to shock housewives and bump ratings.  Consider these timeless Dr. Phil moments, and see one of TV’s biggest frauds at his finest:

Dr. Phil kicks off the creator of “Bumfights” (who hillariously is dressed as a Dr. Phil look-a-like, pattern baldness included):

A hidden camera shows a dad ruthlessly bullying his family, Dr. Phil confronts the man (as John Wayne) muttering: “I’d give my front seat in hell to have been there.”

Kid slaps his own mom in the face:

Hopefully the Phil-meister keeps it clean and doesn’t book Dana White just to kick him off seconds later. If so, Florian needs to man up, and show the audience what a real bully looks like.  Sounds like a hell of a time, I’ll meet you there.

MAN! If that kid was from my country. He would get BEAT DOWN! I can’t believe he slapped his mom. What is he like 12? This is where a parent bends him over, pulls out the belt, and lets him have it. I’m not for child abuse, but a spanking here would be in good order.
