New Round 5 Figures Take Shape

We’ve been waiting years to announce this:  Big John McCarthy has his own action figure.

And so do Frank Mir, Antonio ‘Minotauro’ Nogueria, and Andrei Arlovski.  But, Who cares about them?

Round 5 announced  the make up of their third installment of action figures and it includes the aforementioned fighters (and referree).  These fighters join Randy Couture, Matt Hughes, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Tito Ortiz from the first series, and Rich Franklin, Sean Sherk, Anderson Silva and Wanderlei Silva in the second series; all of whom have had their likenesses crafted in plastic for eternity.

MMARated.com reports that each fighter (or in Big John’s case Referree) has creative control over their likeness and also has control over the final design of their character.  Round 5 plans to release three more series in 2009, one for each quarter. This is a step up from the two series they released in 2008.  While the final models for each are yet to be released, we can’t help to be a little pumped for their release.  It is still fine for grown men to play with with toys?
