The UFC press department has finally got it right. While they billed this past weekends fight “The Biggest Fight in MMA History”, pound for pound they got it right but there are much “bigger” battles to be fought in the octagon.

Looks like he could run out of room...

In a few short months we are going to witness another one of these “Super Fights” between George St. Pierre and B.J Penn. No matter who wins this fight each story will spin off in a new direction and create even more story lines and alternate realities similar to those created by Doc Brown and Marty McFly.

First off if B.J. Penn wins we have the first UFC fighter in history to hold two belts in two different weight classes (Remember they are fighting for GSP’s belt not BJ’s). This could potentially make BJ Penn one of the biggest MMA superstars and open him to to a whole talent pool of people to tear through as he establishes MMA dominance over both weight classes.

Could this be in UFC's future?

In the other hand you have GSP who already has developed a cult following with his “I am not impressed” viral videos and unorthodox ring entrances. If he defeats B.J. Penn then Dana white has said that he will get a shot at Anderson “The Spyder” Silva.  This was annouced at the press conference (6:24 mark) held in Toronto yesterday (Nov. 18) and got the crowed all riled up.

Either way this is going to be very interesting. Both fighters are completely focused on what is in front of them, not whats ahead of them and that is very important as this fight will likely birth one of the biggest superstars this sport has ever seen. Now, I just need to get back to 1998 and give myself this almanac….
